Founded by Tim and Silas, two German backpackers who experienced firsthand the challenges of finding a reliable, travel-ready car in Australia, our mission is simple: make road trips stress-free for travellers.
What started as a small operation in Melbourne has grown into a thriving business with locations in Sydney, Perth, and Melbourne, serving customers across the country. For over six years, Backpacker Cars Australia has specialised in selling vehicles equipped with essential camping gear, including roof tents, dual battery systems, drawer setups, and more.
The Melbourne branch, the largest in the network, operates under Tim’s supervision as Operational Director. His focus is on refining business structures, improving efficiency, and strengthening key relationships—strategies that will later be applied across BCA’s other branches.
With three strategically positioned warehouses across Australia, BCA offers a nationwide vehicle buyback scheme, comprehensive mechanical services, and a soon-to-launch rental program for short-term travelers.
Under Silas’ leadership, the Perth branch has seen significant business growth, with a substantial increase in turnover over the past year. BCA aims to develop Perth into a thriving hub like its Melbourne counterpart within the next three years. Meanwhile, Sydney’s rapid expansion signals strong demand, and plans for further Queensland expansion are on the horizon.
